A mixed day. We went to the marketing event as we were given free tickets - but my partner wanted to take a few photos to make our business blog more interesting, then he got a call from the client with the dead laptop before he had put it away safely - and there it stayed... We are waiting on the call that says they didn't find it... Annoying!

Look at the statistics that Google Analytics gives you. 179 visits so staying up fairly well, 93 new visits - so a good mix of new and existing visitors, 37% search, 30% direct and 33% referral traffic - search is staying up, keyword/site path information shows that current processes are working to bring people to the site, 2.27 pages per visit, 1:49 average time on site so they are picking up again. The process is slowly working. (15mins)

Look at the statistics that Google Analytics gives you. 168 visits so staying up fairly well, 81 new visits - so a good mix of new and existing visitors, 40% search, 29% direct and 31% referral traffic - search is staying up, keyword/site path information shows that current processes are working to bring people to the site, 1.90 pages per visit, 1:02 average time on site is reasonable - these last figures are dropping slightly, but that is probably because the search percentage is high - it's a trade off. (10mins)

Look at the statistics that Google Analytics gives you. 173 visits so going up again, 74 new visits - so a good mix of new and existing visitors, 38% search, 30% direct and 32% referral traffic - search is staying up, keyword/site path information shows that current processes are working to bring people to the site, 1.93 pages per visit, 1:30 average time on site is good - both these last figures mean that people generally actually read the information that's on the website although the time on site has gone lower. So overall, we just need to keep the trend going up. (15mins)

Look at the statistics that Google Analytics gives you. 161 visits so going up again, 62 new visits - so a good mix of new and existing visitors, 31% search, 30% direct and 39% referral traffic - search is staying up, keyword/site path information shows that current processes are working to bring people to the site, 2.06 pages per visit, 2:06 average time on site is good - both these last figures mean that people generally actually read the information that's on the website and they've come up again, which is good. So overall, we just need to keep the trend going up. (10mins)

Well... sometimes getting organised to go out to the monthly networking night seems like a lot of work... And then you have to stand up and say who you are and give a brief description of your business - which is a scary concept to me, as it's mostly a bunch of strangers... BUT we do it - I'm the only one of our group who has actually been to all of these (I think I missed one!).
So last night - it paid off for the second time!
Dave and I arrived and we signed in and got our name tags and were starting to think about getting something to eat and a coffee or soft drink. One of the guys that we've seen regularly at these nights, but don't usually do more than say hello to, came over to us. Turns out he's bought some software and can't get it to work - says that the only reason he came along tonight is because he remembered us and thought we could help him out! Stated that his time is too precious to waste on getting frustrated when he was pretty sure we could do it for him - so that's another customer!!!!
Then there's the actual meeting - really interesting, though a bit over the top, speaker who apparently was born in Frankston but now speaks all over the world and has offices in London, San Diego and Melbourne! Definitely thinking about going to another of his sessions.
So, we stay around outside afterwards, mostly to talk to Georg Beilharz about questions he had about tracking why people don't buy his software... Little bit more food, more soft drink... Chat to a lady who turns out to be the one from down the front who said she was a business coach - gave her a card and explained to her how I thought our businesses could profit from the interaction... Then another guy that I haven't seen before comes over and starts chatting... After going through the description of what his business is and the snazzy equipment they have, we get to the real purpose for him talking to me... So I have a WordPress website to look at and quote on putting the new graphics in place for!
See - this is why we go to the meetings each month. :-)

The wonders of modern technology... We had a family birthday party yesterday afternoon and then training at DISC - thank goodness I have a mobile USB key for my laptop, as I spent 2 hours sitting in the stand watching the training doing work - as well as having been able to let my partner's mother know what the weather forecasts were for the European cities she's visiting on her trip which leaves today!
