Some of the other background tasks

I was mentally reviewing what is on here and realised that there are a couple of things missing from this record.

So, as part of the preparation, we chose a business name, checked it was free, checked the domain name was free and bought the domain name. Later, we registered the business name, with an ABN. We decided not to register for GST at this stage, as it is unlikely that we will have enough turnover to justify it.

We developed a website, which has been through two versions so far and there is another version in the planning stages.

Just recently, I have also opened a bank account in the business name, as I had a cheque that needed to be deposited (and you can't deposit a cheque into your personal bank account if it's made out to the business name, even if you take along the business name registration information...)

And of course, the first thing that we did was to buy a laptop that the development and documentation could be done on and that would be portable for client presentations. Then, when we could afford it, we moved from dial up internet connection to broadband.
