Today's work on/in the business - Sat 17 September

No recorded time today, but follow up to the internet issues of yesterday.

As the ISP wanted the router to be reset to factory defaults yesterday, I recorded all details I could find from the current setup, then reset the router to factory defaults about 10.35am, while Dave was out working. Sadly, even this did not give internet access (even before any changes were made). So I did a small amount of setup for our local network, then waited for the call back from the ISP that I had booked late yesterday.

Call back did not happen as expected between 1pm and 2.45pm (booked for 2pm), so I rebooked it for 3pm. About 3.15pm we got the call... Sadly, not all the information I included in the two call back request details got to the woman who called, but she worked with Dave and I to fix it. We had to use a different router (again!!!!), but with a lot of work, we got a connection to the ISP, then with a bit more setup we actually got a real internet connection again! Full credit to the woman who stuck with us and assisted in resolving the issue - but sad that this is the second time one of their outages has meant that we have to totally rebuild our router setup!
